About the Artist
Ms. Dion attended the Pennsylvania State University and received a BA, French, in 1969. She holds a Certificate with Honors in Botanical Art and Illustration from the New York Botanical Garden. Ms. Dion has worked as an illustrator since 1981. She has also worked as an art director in staff and freelance positions. She has illustrated four complete books as well as numerous assignments for commercial, corporate, editorial and architectural clients.
She began exhibiting and selling photographs and drawings in 1998. She has exhibited works at Silicon Gallery, Philadelphia; Philadelphia Museum of Art, Artworks Gallery, Philadelphia; Pennswood Gallery, Newtown, PA; Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts Juried Exhibition, Philadelphia; Fox Gallery, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia (one-person show); Abington Art Center Juried Exhibition, Abington, PA .
Recent exhibitions: Jenkins Florilegium, Devon, PA, 2026; Botanical Art Worldwide 2025: A More Abundant Future, The New York Botanical Garden Fourth Triennial: Abundant Future, 2020-2025; American Society of Botanical Artists' 21st Annual International exhibition, 2018; Philadelphia Flower Show, 2016-2025 and Pennsylvania Horticultural Society "Prelude to Spring" 2017 and 2019.
Ms. Dion is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and the Philadelphia Society of Botanical Illustrators. She serves on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Botanical Artists. She lives and works in the Philadelphia area.
