Botanical Art

My journey as a botanical illustrator started in late 2013 when I decided I needed a new direction for my art. I received an email from the Barnes Foundation about a class in botanical illustration. It brought back the experience of illustrating Watering Wilted Flowers and how much I loved researching each plant. I decided to take the class. It led to discovering the certificate program at the New York Botanical Garden and the American Society of Botanical Artists. I visited the director of the program and next thing I knew I registered for classes and was taking the train to New York on a weekly basis. I received my certificate in 2017 and now spend many happy hours in gardens sketching, photographing specimens and painting or drawing.
